I
have just finished reading
that a third major national restaurant chain has determined that over 250
individuals have been sickened by another germ outbreak. (Diagnosis to be
forthcoming.) I would be willing to bet next week's paycheck
that they will again discover E. Coli.
Having been married to a nurse
who has spent a quarter of a century among various germs and bacteria, I have become familiar
with some forms of bacteria and the manner(s) in which they are spread.
The E. Coli bacteria is very common in human feces. We have all heard of E. Coli in
hamburger and other meats which means that E. Coli can be "manufactured" by other means. (Proper heating of meats will
result in the killing of the bacteria.)
HOWEVER, E. Coli can also be spread through vegetables and some fruits. So what do we do about vegetables
that are often eaten raw? You can't heat your salad!
And a simple rinsing like they do in today's restaurants just isn't enough.
Lettuce, spinach and
onions are all mass produced in corporate agricultural fields across America. MASSIVE fields
that are often maintained and cultivated by thousands of illegal immigrants.
Has our insistence of
immigration reform caused a silent and possibly deadly protest by these
illegals against America? Think about it. Talk show host
Michael Savage has been the only person (that I am aware of) who has
revealed the true source of the E. Coli manifestation: defecation in
these agricultural fields. But Savage was kinder
and gentler to the workers, chalking it up to Third World bathroom
etiquette: If you gotta go....you go where you stand! And lets
face it,
there are plenty of leafy substances in these fields to gently wipe
your
backside.
But what if this isn't
"ignorance" of proper bathroom hygeian? What if this is a PURPOSEFUL undermining and
sabotage of the American food system to "get even" for our anti-illegal
immigration politics? Defecation in onion, lettuce and spinach
fields certainly is a good way to get back at the "Evil American"!
Is my mind in the gutter? (Or
should I say toilet??) But just think about it for a moment. Why
now? Why all at once? And why in such mass?
I think my wife and I are going
to be eating at home a lot more often. And I think well be eating
less raw vegetation....and get our daily requirement of greens via the oven and stove.
